Date-Masking Mode for Objective Photo Comparison

I wish there was a way to compare two photos without knowledge of their dates. You could have a mode that masks the date that currently appears in the upper left corner of each photo.

With this mode enabled the date would be masked and two photos from two different time periods would be randomly presented to the user side by side.

Next, a rater such as the user ( or a friendly bystander) would make their judgment: “which photo shows progress the left or the right?” (maybe - if easy to implement- the screen would display this question underneath both photos).

The user could then hit a “reveal the dates” button. Once the dates were unmasked, they could see if their guess matched their hopes.

For example, suppose I have this mode on and I said to myself “ I think the photo on the left shows slightly more definition in the abs”. Next, supposed I then I pressed the “reveal the dates” button, and I found that the date on the left was indeed later than the date on the right. In that case, I would feel a lot more assurance that I really progressed. if I showed a friend or an unbiased observer and they made the same rating, I would feel even more confident that this truly was progress.

I don’t know the code, but as an outside observer, it would seem a relatively easy change in the app to make. I hope you consider my suggestion because I think it will make judgments a lot more rigorous. and less subject to unconscious positive self bias, wishful thinking, etc.
